EMILIANO CANOVA BIOGRAPHY

PRODUCER – DIRECTOR – SCREENWRITER – VOICE OVER ARTIST

EN – Emiliano Canova (born in 1993) is an Italian director, screenwriter, and speaker. He trained at the Teatro Stabile del Veneto and made his directorial debut at the age of twenty with short films such as Ruggine (2015), Il Filo di Arianna (2016), Seem (2016), and Boldness (2017). In September 2017, he moved to Rome, where he expanded his artistic path and began working as a producer as well. In 2021, he directed and produced the Jimmy Broadcast Show, followed in 2023 by the medium-length film Avorio Nero, which premiered in theaters on March 17 and was selected for the La Notte del Cinema showcase at the Social World Film Festival. He is the co-founder of the production company Canova Production, established with Jessica Beltramello, through which he produces theatrical performances and feature films. In 2024, he directed his first feature film, It Happens in a Night, which premiered exclusively in theaters on April 5, 2025, and was also screened on Gigi Marzullo’s Rai Uno program, Il Cinematografo. The film won six awards, including Best Costume Design at the Rome Prisma Independent Film Awards and Best Film, Best Duo (Rita Rusciano and Alessandra Persi), Best Emerging Director (Emiliano Canova), Best Cinematography (Jheison Garcia), and Best Editing (Jessica Beltramello). It will be released in September 2025 with the National Tour of the film, It Happens in a Night: Milan, Naples, Bari, Turin, Bologna, Padua, Rome, Ferrara, and Rovigo.
